There has most definitely been a lot of historical migration between the two countries because of their close proximity. This is evident in the linguistic similarity between the Japanese and Korean languages, which share an almost identical grammatical system (though the vocabulary is almost entirely different).
Today's Japanese people are certainly partially descended from Korean migrants, though they are thoroughly blended into the nation's people and not identified. There is today, however, a significant minority of ethnic Koreans living in Japan without Japanese citizenship. These people are mainly descendants of those brought to Japan during the colonial times from 1910 to 1945.

Korea is no longer a state, but the Korea Peninsula is shared between two states, South Korea and North Korea. It's total land area is 220,186 km², and the combined population of both states is 72,014,000.
